Uttarakhand: A crew of ITBP personnel carried an injured girl for 15 hours

A crew of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel carried an injured girl for 15 hours because it rescued her from a mountainous and distant border location of Uttarakhand, an officer of the border-guarding drive mentioned on Sunday.
The troops negotiated swollen rivulets, rocky tracks and landslide-prone heights on Saturday whereas rescuing the girl on a cot from Lapsa village in Pithoragarh district’s Munsyari city.
The girl fell from a hillside and broke her legs on August 20 however she couldn’t be rescued for 2 days as a chopper couldn’t land within the space, an ITBP spokesperson mentioned.
As her situation worsened, the ITBP was knowledgeable and subsequently, troops from the 14th battalion of the drive deployed on the Milam border publish alongside the Sino-India Line of Precise Management (LAC), about 22 kms from the girl’s village, trekked to rescue her, he added.
“Twenty-five ITBP males took turns to hold the girl on a stretcher for 15 hours by flooded nullahs, landslide-prone areas and slippery slopes for about 40 kms, as much as the closest roadhead.
“The girl was additional evacuated to a hospital. She is secure now,” the officer mentioned.
The paramilitary drive is primarily tasked with guarding the three,488-km-long LAC with China.
