Amma Canteens resumed offering free meals from June 19 (File)

Meals, freed from price can be residence delivered for the aged, sick and destitute in Chennai and close by areas the place intense lockdown will probably be in power until July 5, Chief Minister E Palaniswami stated right here on Tuesday.

Amma Canteens shall proceed to offer meals without cost within the state capital and components of neighbouring Chengelpet, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur, he stated.

After a hiatus, Amma Canteens resumed offering free meals from June 19 when the lockdown -without a number of relaxations allowed previously- kicked in.

“I’ve ordered hand over of meals, freed from price on the residences of the aged, sick and destitute,” the Chief Minister stated in an official launch, including that the initiative can be in power right here and close by areas until the tip of the tightened lockdown.
