A lady in Karimnagar district of Telangana allegedly bought her toddler granddaughter for Rs 1.10 lakh, police mentioned on Saturday.

In response to police, the toddler’s father acquired married about three years in the past. He was residing in Hyderabad along with his spouse.

The person’s spouse gave start to a child lady one month in the past and he or she was staying at her moms place at Veenavanka within the district, they mentioned.

The person’s mother-in-law allegedly bought the child on Friday as she was in want of cash, they mentioned.

After coming to know concerning the matter, the toddler’s father complained to the state authorities’s Baby Welfare Committee (CWC) yesterday.

The committee inquired concerning the challenge and referred it to police, together with a report.

Based mostly on a grievance from the person, the Veenavanka police registered a case underneath the Juvenile Justice Act in opposition to the toddler’s grandmother and the alleged purchaser.
