Two criminals snatched a gold chain and different jewelry from a girl police officer at gunpoint in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

As per stories, the incident happened when DSP (Vigilance) Tanuja Mohanty was standing in entrance of her residence and the bike-borne criminals looted gold ornaments, together with chain, earrings, and bangles, from her at gunpoint and fled.

Prasanna Das, the husband of the woman officer, whereas talking to the ANI mentioned, “Two males got here on a motorcycle. They enquired about an handle from my spouse, who was on the telephone. After my spouse replied saying she didn’t have any concept, they saved a gun on her head and began snatching her gold chain, bangles, and earrings. Once I tried to come back close to to assist her, they threatened to kill her and fled with the gold gadgets.”

A case has been filed on the Kharavela Nagar police station, after which a manhunt has been launched to arrest the criminals.

The instances of chain snatchings have been rising within the metropolis for the reason that lockdown. Final week, the police arrested two chain-snatchers and recovered eight gold chains from them.
