Twitter posts indicated hundreds of dollars in bitcoin could have been despatched to scammers’ digital account

San Francisco:

The official Twitter accounts of Apple, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and others had been hijacked on Wednesday by scammers making an attempt to dupe folks into sending cryptocurrency bitcoin within the hope of doubling their cash.

Twitter posts, which have been deleted, had been fired off from an array of high-profile accounts telling folks they’d 30 minutes to ship $1,000 in bitcoin to be able to be despatched again twice as a lot.

“This can be a SCAM, DO NOT take part!” Gemini cryptocurrency alternate co-founder Cameron Winklevoss warned in a tweet from his official account at Twitter.

“This is similar assault/takeover that different main crypto twitter accounts are experiencing. Be vigilant!”

Feedback and posts at Twitter indicated hundreds of dollars in bitcoin could have been despatched to the scammers’ digital account.
