New Delhi:

Procuring malls in Uttar Pradesh shall be allowed to use for licenses to promote worldwide and premium manufacturers of alcohol from July 27, the state authorities stated in an announcement. Imported liquor shall be obtainable at malls from August 25, it stated.

Imported international liquor, Indian scotch, all manufacturers of brandy, gin, wine, vodka and rum, priced above Rs 700, shall be obtainable at malls together with beer that price Rs 160 or extra, the order stated.

The annual license charge has been mounted at Rs 12 lakh and will be obtained by any particular person, firm, agency or society, it stated.

These outlets shall be allowed function from 10 am to 9 pm and clients can enter the shops and select the manufacturers from the cabinets, the Further Chief Secretary, Excise, Sanjay Bhoosreddy stated within the order. Nonetheless, the shops will not be allowed to serve alcohol on their premises, the order stated.

“In the previous couple of years, the pattern to buy from malls has seen a speedy rise. Viewing this, the state has determined to permit the sale of costly international liquor from purchasing malls,” Mr Bhoosreddy added.
