Twelve Maoists, 5 of them collectively carrying a reward of Rs 6 lakh on their heads, surrendered in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district on Sunday, police stated.
The cadres turned themselves in earlier than police and the CRPF officers in Dantewada city saying that they have been impressed by the rehabilitation marketing campaign being run by the native police and upset with the hole Maoist ideology, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava instructed PTI.

The remaining seven Maoists have been energetic as lower-rung Maoist members, he stated.
From them, one Amit Kawasi was allegedly concerned within the October 2018 Nilawaya assault, during which three policemen and a Doordarshan cameraman have been killed in Dantewada, he stated.
“All 12 ultras stated of their assertion that they have been upset with the hole Maoist ideology, and have been impressed by the ”Lon Varratu” (time period coined in native Gondi dialect which suggests ”return to your village”) marketing campaign being run by the police in Dantewada,” Mr Pallava stated.
In keeping with the officer, they are going to be offered services as per the federal government’s give up and rehabilitation coverage, he stated.
