A 12-year-old lady was allegedly raped by a person in Uttar Pradesh’s Better Noida and the accused arrested after a gunfight with police personnel, officers mentioned on Thursday.

The incident befell in Ecotech three police station space on Tuesday afternoon after which an FIR was lodged, and the accused was recognized and arrested on Wednesday, the officers mentioned.

“The case was difficult because the accused was sporting a face masks on the time of the crime and there was no eyewitness of the incident. The sufferer too had seen the accused for the primary time. Police groups swung into motion and the accused was recognized,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Ladies Security) Vrinda Shukla mentioned.

“When a police group reached the situation of the accused, he tried to run away from the spot. He additionally opened hearth on the group in his bid to flee however was overpowered and caught,” Mr Shukla mentioned.

The officer mentioned she met the minor lady, whose mother and father are each day wage earners, and he or she was in a secure situation and getting ample medical care.
