Police have arrested 5 individuals, together with three ladies, in Maharashtra”s Thane district for allegedly kidnapping a two-and-a-half-year-old boy and promoting him to a childless couple for Rs 70,000, an official stated on Saturday.

The toddler was rescued and reunited along with his dad and mom not too long ago and the accused had been arrested on Friday, he stated.

“The boy was kidnapped on September 15 from close to his home situated near the circus floor space in Ambarnath township when he was enjoying. His dad and mom carried out a search within the space, however failed to search out him. They later approached the police,” senior inspector Sanjay Dhumal stated.

“The police pasted the photographs of the lacking youngster on autorickshaws in Ambarnath city. Quickly, police bought a tip-off from a rickshaw driver that the kid was noticed in Bharat Nagar locality of Ulhasnagar township within the district,” he added.

A pair handed over the minor to the police, who confirmed that it was the identical youngster. He was then reunited along with his dad and mom on September 19, Mr Dhumal stated.

“In the course of the interrogation, the couple advised the police that the kid had been offered to them for Rs 70,000 by a lady named Jainatbi Fakir Mohammad Khan, after he was kidnapped on September 15,” he added.

Throughout Jainatbi’s questioning, she named different 4 accused.

They had been dentified as Pooja Mahesh Chettiar, (28), Sheru Sukhram Saroj (45), Mukesh Anil Kharva (36) and Maya Sukhdev Kale (30), police stated.
