Excise Division has begun proceedings to cancel the supplier’s license: Official (Representational)

The Excise Division officers on Thursday seized 33,000 cans of beer, imported illegally with out the fee of Excise responsibility of round Rs 1.50 crore, an official mentioned.

The beverage was seized in a raid on the warehouse of a liquor dealer at Kasna in Larger Noida space, he added.

Following the seizure, a person was additionally arrested from the warehouse, whereas two others managed to flee, he mentioned.

The Division has begun continuing to cancel the license of the supplier concerned within the unlawful storage of the beverage, he added.

“A raid was carried out at a warehouse of a liquor supplier in Larger Noida’s Kasna space on Tuesday and 1,375 cartons of imported beer had been recovered from there. The supplier had not paid the excise responsibility, which amounted to Rs 1.5 crore, and had illegally saved the liquor,” an Excise Division official instructed PTI.

There have been altogether 33,000 cans of premium manufacturers of beer which had been seized through the raid, the official mentioned, including the supplier had permission for procurement and sale of lesser amount of liquor.

There might be no public sale or resale of the confiscated liquor and all of the cans could be destroyed after authorized proceedings are accomplished within the courtroom of regulation, the official mentioned.

An FIR has been lodged within the case on the Kasna Police Station underneath the Excise Act provisions.
