The husband of an assistant sub-inspector of Punjab police was robbed of Rs 7.50 lakh together with two cellphones in his possession by a gaggle of males in Punjab’s Phagwara, police mentioned on Thursday.

The incident befell on Wednesday evening on Nationwide Freeway 1 when Harinderjit Singh was returning in his automotive together with two family members from Nabha, mentioned police.

By the way, Harinderjit’s spouse Rajwinder Kaur is an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police in Hoshiarpur district.

In his criticism, he mentioned some 10-12 males intercepted his automotive that when he was close to Jamalpur village.

They thrashed him and decamped with Rs 7.50 lakh money and two cellphones, police mentioned.

The group blamed him for hitting their automotive, the complainant said.

Police official Onkar Singh Brar mentioned a case was registered beneath related sections of the Indian Penal Code and investigations had been underway.
