A bag containing Rs 31.50 lakh of a grocery dealer was stolen from the money counter of an ICICI financial institution department on Monday in minutes throughout which its proprietor went to a distinct counter to deposit a pay-in-slip leaving again his bag, mentioned police.

The incident occurred on the financial institution’s Char Murti Circle department beneath Baran metropolis police station space.

The police have lodged a case of theft towards unidentified accused and efforts are on to hint them, they added.

Baran metropolis police station in-charge Mangilal mentioned the incident occurred round 11 AM when dealer Mahavir Goyal reached the financial institution to deposit his cash.

Mr Goyal informed police that he left his bag with Rs 31.50 lakh on the money counter and went to an adjoining counter for a couple of seconds to deposit his pay-in-slip, mentioned the police station in-charge, including that his bag had disappeared when he returned to the money counter.
