Kolkata:

Suspension of passenger flights to Kolkata from six metros with excessive prevalence of COVID-19 circumstances has been prolonged until August 31, a senior authorities official stated on Tuesday.

Earlier, the short-term restriction on the arrival of flights to Kolkata airport from Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Nagpur, and Ahmedabad was prolonged until August 15, amid the surge in coronavirus circumstances within the state.

In a letter to the secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, PS Kharola, state Residence Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay stated, “I’m additional directed to tell you that the suspension of flights from the aforesaid (six) cities to Kolkata will proceed until 31 August 2020.”
