India stated on Thursday that South China sea is a part of international commons and it has an abiding curiosity in peace and stability within the area.
Exterior Affairs Ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava stated at a weekly media briefing that India firmly stands for the liberty of navigation and overflight and unimpeded lawful commerce in these worldwide waterways.
He was replying to queries about India’s stance after the US rejected most of China’s maritime claims within the South China Sea.
“We’ve got articulated our place on South China Sea on a number of events up to now, most lately on Might 21. Our place on this subject has been clear and constant. South China Sea is part of international commons and India has an abiding curiosity in peace and stability within the area. We firmly stand for the liberty of navigation and overflight and unimpeded lawful commerce in these worldwide waterways, in accordance with worldwide regulation, notably UNCLOS,” Mr Srivastava stated.

The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had earlier this week stated that China’s claims to offshore sources throughout a lot of the South China Sea had been “utterly illegal, as is its marketing campaign of bullying to manage them”.
