A 72-year-old man, who went lacking from the Indira Gandhi Worldwide (IGI) airport right here upon his arrival from Kazakhstan, was traced to Ghaziabad and despatched to house quarantine for 14 days, police stated on Sunday.

Harjeet Singh, a resident of Dilshad Backyard, arrived in Delhi on flight quantity AI 1916 from Almaty in Kazakhstan on Saturday and went lacking from the entry gate of the screening corridor at Terminal-Three of the IGI airport, they stated.

The police have been knowledgeable about it by the Yamuna Vihar sub-divisional Justice of the Peace’s (SDM) employees.

They stated Mr Singh intentionally skipped the screening process, following which he was to be institutionally quarantined, in accordance with tips issued by the Ministry of House Affairs (MHA).

A case was registered beneath the related sections of the Indian Penal Code and Epidemic Act, a senior police officer stated.

Throughout investigation, it was revealed that the cell phone quantity and handle given by the passenger on arrival weren’t in use. With the assistance of CCTV footage, the automobile through which Singh left the airport was recognized, the officer stated.

With the assistance of the registration quantity and digital surveillance, Singh was traced to Indirapuram, Ghaziabad and despatched to house quarantine for 14 days by the authority involved, he added.
