Mumbai:
In a joint operation of the Directorate of Income Intelligence (DRI) and the Customs, 191 kgs of medicine value round Rs 1,000 crores had been seized at Nhava Sheva port of Navi Mumbai, the DRI stated.
In response to DRI, the medication had been being transported inside pipes and so they value round Rs 5 crores per kg available in the market.
Two accused have been arrested within the case who had allegedly introduced these medication via Afghanistan. The accused had been produced within the courtroom and so they have been remanded in custody for 14 days, and additional investigation is underway.
“191 kg of medicine, value Rs 1,000 crores, seized at Nhava Sheva port of Navi Mumbai in a joint operation with customs. Transported inside pipes, medication had been introduced via Afghanistan. Courtroom has despatched the 2 accused to 14 days police custody,” stated a DRI officer.
