An earthquake of four.2 magnitude hit a few mile (2 km) north of the Los Angeles neighborhood of Pacoima on Thursday, the US Geological Survey mentioned. There have been no fast experiences of harm.

Although comparatively small in magnitude, the quake, which struck at four:29 am Pacific time (1129 GMT), was felt in a lot of the Los Angeles space, social media experiences mentioned. A second quake of three.three magnitude struck 9 minutes later, the survey mentioned.

Individuals on social media reported feeling the quake in areas reminiscent of North Hollywood and Sherman Oaks, with some saying they didn’t obtain a #ShakeAlert message on their telephones.

“Felt it in Sherman Oaks! Woke us up from a lifeless sleep. No alert on the telephone, although,” Twitter consumer Joe Hubbard mentioned.

One other Twitter consumer, Lee A Houck, mentioned she obtained an alert after the shaking started.
