The Left and Congress shall be organising state-wide protests on October 6 in opposition to the alleged gang rape of a Dalit girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras, apart from incidents of rape and homicide in West Bengal.

A mega rally shall be organised in Kolkata, whereas comparable programmes can even be held within the different districts, in keeping with a press release issued by Left Entrance Chairman Biman Bose and Chief of Opposition Abdul Mannan of the Congress.

The Kolkata rally will start at Esplanade and undergo the Park Avenue to finish close to the Woman Brabourne Faculty, it mentioned.

“The current cases being the brutal rape and homicide of ladies at Ghatal and Debra in Paschim Medinipur. The TMC authorities owe an evidence to the ladies of the state, to the folks of the state in regards to the rise in brutalities in opposition to ladies,” it added.

Round 1,000 activists of the Left and the Congress on Saturday protested in Kolkata in opposition to the alleged gang rape in Hathras that has triggered a nationwide outrage.
