Delhi Police has arrested the accused within the case of sexual assault of a 12-year-old lady.

A person accused of raping and torturing a 12-year-old lady in her Delhi home has been arrested, the police stated. The survivor underwent a surgical procedure at AIIMS hospital and was important, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated on Thursday, calling the crime barbaric.
The accused has been recognized as 33-year-old Krishna, towards whom four criminals circumstances, together with one for homicide, had been registered up to now, Joint Commissioner of Police Shalini Singh stated. She alleged the accused had entered the home with an intention to loot.
The survivor was sexually assaulted at her west Delhi home on Tuesday, when her mother and father have been at work. She was repeatedly hit by a pointy object on her head and face by the accused. She had been mendacity in a pool of blood when her neighbours discovered her and knowledgeable her mother and father, the police stated.
Her attacker had escaped the spot after committing the crime.
The lady was first taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital and later shifted to AIIMS after preliminary remedy. Based on reviews, she was continuously bleeding.
“We acquired data on Tuesday concerning the assault of a minor lady. An FIR beneath part 307 (try and homicide) and POCSO (Safety of Kids from Sexual Offences) Act has been registered and additional investigation is underway,” a senior police officer had stated.
Mr Kejriwal on Thursday visited the survivor within the hospital and warranted that he would assign the most effective lawyer to the case to make sure justice.
“The kid is in a critical state, unconscious. A surgical procedure has been achieved. She will likely be beneath remark for 24 to 48 hours,” he stated.
Earlier than his go to to the hospital, Mr Kejriwal had tweeted that the savage assault “has shaken me to the core. Such predators roaming free can’t be tolerated.”
BJP MP Gautam Gambhir has demanded justice to the lady.
“The brutal rape of a 12 yr outdated little one is completely horrific! These animals deserve nothing lower than demise. All of us are praying for her and I urge the Delhi Police to deliver the perpetrators to justice on the earliest,” he tweeted.
