A 45-year-old man, accused of raping a teenage lady, was caught within the Chambal forests and later despatched to judicial custody on Monday, the police stated.

The accused had kidnapped the minor lady from her village in Kota district on Saturday and allegedly raped her within the Chambal forests. The lady was, nonetheless, rescued the identical day whereas the accused managed to flee from the forests. He was later arrested on Sunday.

The sufferer’s mom, beneath native police station space, lodged a case of kidnap of her minor daughter towards the 45-year-old man from the village, recognized as Gobrilal Meena (45), police station official Ramavtar Sharma stated.

Two police groups rescued the minor lady afterward Saturday from the forests of Chambal whereas the accused was taking her on a bike. Upon noticing the police groups chasing him, the accused escaped from the spot leaving the lady and the motorbike behind, Mr Sharma stated.

Later, the lady gave a press release to the police on Sunday disclosing that she had been raped by the accused within the forests after she was kidnapped.

The police integrated punishment for rape and related sections of the Safety of Kids from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act into the case and despatched the survivor for a medical examination on the identical day.

Meena was caught within the Chambal forests on Monday night, Mr Sharma stated, including that the accused admitted to have raped the minor lady when he was interrogated.

The accused underwent a efficiency check following which he was produced earlier than the POCSO court docket that ordered him to be positioned beneath judicial custody for 14 days.

Mr Sharma additional stated that the accused has been despatched to New Medical Faculty Hospital in Kota for gathering his samples for COVID-19 check and could be despatched to jail after receiving the report.
