The Gautam Buddh Nagar police on Tuesday arrested a Haryana-based man who’s accused of duping folks of their cash by promising them jobs, officers mentioned. 

Akshay Walia, a local of Kurukshetra in Haryana, was arrested by the Cyber Cell of the police, they mentioned

He mentioned an engineer had lately approached the Gautam Buddh Nagar police alleging fraud by Walia after which an FIR was lodged on the Part 2 police station in Noida and the Cyber Cell joined the probe.

“The engineer was trying to find jobs on LinkedIn the place the accused contacted him and promised a job. He then despatched him a faux job supply letter and different paperwork and in return requested him to pay Rs 77,880 by way of Paytm,” the officer mentioned.

“After some days, the accused went inaccessible and finally it dawned on the engineer that he had been duped,” he mentioned.
