A 30-year-old sweeper was injured when a person attacked him with a knife after an argument broke out between them in southeast Delhi’s Jamia Nagar space, police stated on Thursday.

The sufferer, Sonpal, a resident of Nehru Nagar, works as a sweeper within the municipal company on contract foundation in Jamia Nagar.

Following the incident, which befell on Wednesday morning, the accused was arrested, they stated.

“Round 7 am, when Sonpal was on obligation, a person named Mohammad Shiraz (28), additionally a resident of Jamia Nagar, attacked him with a knife after an argument broke out between them over cleansing,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) RP Meena stated.

Police stated the accused instructed the sufferer that he was not cleansing correctly, after which the argument escalated.

Sonpal sustained accidents on his neck and proper arm. He was rushed to the Holy Household Hospital for therapy, the DCP stated.
