Punjab BJP chief Ashwani Sharma and over 40 others have been charged for allegedly violating the COVID-19 tips, police mentioned on Monday.

Mr Sharma and others have been accused of holding a political assembly at Ghartholi Mohalla on Sunday. They’ve been charged beneath the related sections of the IPC, the Catastrophe Administration Act and the Epidemic Illnesses Act, the mentioned.

Images of the political assembly went viral on social media, the police mentioned.

Police official Mandeep Salgotra mentioned that Vicky Rampal, an aide of Ashwani Sharma, had allegedly organised the political assembly at his ward in violation of the COVID-19 tips.
