Bringing an ordinance to offer quota profit to the Maratha group is a authorized difficulty and the Maha Vikas Aghadi authorities will have a look into it, stated Maharashtra minister and state Congress chief Balasaheb Thorat on Monday.
His feedback come within the wake of NCP chief Sharad Pawar final week suggesting the ordinance route after the Supreme Courtroom, on Wednesday, stayed the implementation of a 2018 regulation granting reservation to the Maratha group in schooling and jobs within the state.
“It’s a authorized difficulty. We are going to test it,” Mr Thorat advised reporters, including the state authorities had approached the court docket “well-prepared”.
The Supreme Courtroom’s interim order of staying the implementation of the regulation is “incomprehensible”, he added.
“Our prayer was for referring the case to a bigger bench, how come such an order was handed? Therefore, we’re a bit involved,” he added.
He requested opposition events to not play politics on the problem and stated “now we have to win and provides justice to the group”.
He sidestepped a question on remarks made by actor Kangana Ranaut, solely stating “it’s not good to talk a lot about it.
