Jaipur:
The Particular Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police on Friday arrested Sanjay Jain whose identify had surfaced in a viral audio recording about horse buying and selling of legislators to topple the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress authorities in Rajasthan, an official mentioned.
“Jain has been arrested following interrogation into the FIR lodged on the premise of audio recording that had gone viral on social media,” Extra Director Basic (ATS and SOG) Ashok Rathore mentioned.
Mr Jain was interrogated Thursday and Friday following which the arrest has been made, officers mentioned.
Congress Chief Whip Mahesh Joshi had lodged a grievance demanding a probe and registration of an FIR below sedition costs towards three individuals — Congress MLA Bhanwarlal Sharma, Gajendra Singh and Sanjay Jain — who have been allegedly discussing a conspiracy to topple the state authorities in one of many three audio recordings that went viral on social media Thursday.
Congress chief Randeep Surjewala had referred to Mr Jain as a BJP chief, a cost denied by that celebration.
The SOG had earlier on Friday registered two FIRs below IPC sections 124-A (sedition) and 120-B (conspiracy) to probe into the grievance associated to horse buying and selling of MLAs and the alleged audio recordings.
