The Uttar Pradesh authorities has prolonged the deadline until August 31 for the Particular Investigation Group (SIT) to submit their report in Kanpur encounter case by which eight police personnel had misplaced their lives after a gaggle of assailants opened fireplace on a police workforce, which had gone to arrest gangster Vikas Dubey.

The SIT headed by Extra Chief Secretary Sanjay Bhoosreddy was scheduled to submit its report by July 31.

Vikas Dubey was arrested by the Madhya Pradesh Police in Ujjain on July 9. He was on the run and had come to the town to supply prayers on the Mahakal temple.

Vikas Dubey was killed in an encounter by the Uttar Pradesh Police on July 10 after he “tried to flee”.

The gangster was the primary accused within the encounter that befell in Bikru village in Chaubeypur space of Kanpur, by which a gaggle of assailants opened fireplace on a police workforce, which had gone to arrest him. Eight police personnel have been killed within the encounter.
