A BJP Councillor Dipika Rani Singh and her husband Pushpendra Singh have been charged for allegedly assaulting a civic physique worker in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura.

A case towards them was registered beneath sections 332, 353, 323 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

On Friday, a struggle broke out throughout a gathering of the Mathura Municipal Company by which a BJP councillor, Dipika Rani Singh, attacked the Municipal Commissioner and his private assistant.

Defending herself, councillor Dipikar Singh stated that municipal commissioner forcibly shook her had when she was elevating points associated to improvement of her space.  

“I attempted to apprise the Municipal Commissioner of the issues in my ward. I requested him to name the JE, AE of my ward and to current an inventory of works carried out and to be carried out in my ward. I had simply stated this a lot when he (municipal commissioner) shook my hand forcibly and roughly requested me to sit down down. This made me lose my mood, I used to be elevating the problems of the general public,” she stated

Municipal Commissioner Ravinder Kumar had stated that a case shall be filed on behalf of the Municipal Company towards the councillor.

“Mayor Mukesh Aryabandhu had referred to as the assembly right this moment for passing the price range for improvement works within the space, all councillors, officers, and our MLAs have been current right here. Earlier than the assembly may begin, the ward 24 councillor, Dipika Rani, began making a ruckus,” Mr Kumar had stated.

“When our PA tried to calm her down, she hit him with slippers, following which we boycotted the assembly and left the spot. We’re submitting an FIR concerning the incident on behalf of the company and also will apprise the administration of the incident, and can urge them to cancel the membership of the accused resulting from this behaviour,” he had added.
