New Delhi:

A taxi driver has been arrested for allegedly making an attempt to kill his spouse on suspicion of infidelity in southeast Delhi’s Amar Colony space, police stated on Tuesday.

The accused has been recognized as Gyanender Shukla, 24, a resident of Timarpur, they stated.

The incident came about on Saturday, police stated.

Based on the police, Shukla suspected that his spouse, a transgender, was having an affair. He attacked her with a kitchen knife and fled considering that she was useless.

When the accused left, his spouse made a video of her minimize throat and despatched it to her father. As she couldn’t cry for assist, she banged on door to alert the neighbours.

She was then rushed to the AIIMS trauma centre, police stated.

A case was registered on the Amar Colony Police Station on this regard, a police official stated.

“The accused was arrested on Saturday. Interrogation revealed that the duo acquired married on March 13, 2019. Shukla’s household was in opposition to the wedding and evicted them from the home,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) RP Meena stated.

The couple began residing within the flat of the sufferer’s father. However Shukla began suspecting his spouse’s character they usually typically fought with one another, he stated.

His father-in-law later requested them to vacate the flat following which they shifted to Outdated Double Storey, Lajpat Nagar-IV, the DCP added.
